PERSONALITY

Personality refers to a person’s psychological characteristics, the way we think, feel, and behave. It is divided into external action visible to other people and internal, private experiences.

Personality is about our lived, past experiences, but also about our present experiences and anticipation of the future. Human psychological wellbeing is built on an experience of the self, which is mainly characterised by predictability and consistency. This is strongly linked to the persistent, regular characteristics of our personality. But personality is also about change and development. The permanence of personality is reflected, for example, in the concept of identity.
