Mindfulness Sessions
Feeling stressed? Finding it hard to slow down or make time for yourself? Maybe you have heard about mindfulness, but never quite found the time to give it a try. Perhaps now is a good time to pause.
Join Nyyti’s Mindfulness Sessions and take 45 minutes for your wellbeing. The sessions offer a chance to slow down, practise mindfulness and learn simple skills that can help you manage stress and support relaxation. The sessions are based on a curious, allowing and kind attitude towards your own thoughts, feelings and experiences.
The Mindfulness Sessions will be held on Tuesdays 20.10.2026 and 3.11.2026 from 17.30 to 18.15 on Zoom. Free places are available for students via Nyyti.
Who are the sessions for and how to join?
The Mindfulness Sessions are free and open to all higher education students aged 18 and over in Finland. You do not need any previous experience of mindfulness. If you are completely new to mindfulness, you are very welcome to join. The sessions are also suitable if you have tried mindfulness before or have an established practice.
You can join either session or both. Each session stands on its own, so you are welcome to join even if you have not attended the other session.
Registration for this autumn sessions on Tuesdays 20 October and 3 November is now open. You can register using the “Register here” button above.
Please register for the session by the Sunday evening before the session. If you register after this deadline and there are still places available, please contact the facilitator directly by email. Places are limited and are allocated in the order in which people register.
After registering, you will receive an automatic confirmation by email. The facilitator will send you the Zoom link by email the day before the session. Each session has its own Zoom link.
What happens during the sessions?
Each session lasts 45 minutes and includes a range of mindfulness exercises. The exercises are mainly based on the MBSR programme (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), a mindfulness-based approach that has been studied for more than 40 years.
Why try a Mindfulness Session?
- Take 45 minutes for yourself – to pause and support your wellbeing.
- If mindfulness is new to you, come and explore what it is like in a guided setting.
- Practising together can give you encouragement and support for developing your own mindfulness practice.
- If you have taken a break from mindfulness, the sessions can be an easy way to get started again.
- You do not need to be physically flexible or able to sit cross-legged. The exercises can be adapted to suit you.
- You do not have to be experiencing stress to benefit. Mindfulness can help you develop a different relationship with your thoughts, feelings and body – and support your overall wellbeing.
