Volunteer and Make a Difference

As a Nyyti volunteer, you get to contribute to the mental well-being of your student peers. Your thoughts and experiences are an important source of knowledge and support for us and to other students.

Come and create the kind of student culture that puts mental health and compassion at the center stage!

”As a student, you’re a first-hand expert in students’ mental health. Welcome to join us!”

Meaningful Voluntary Work

  • The Roihu group is a student advocacy group that aims to influence students’ mental health situation. The activities are open to all university students.

Hosting a Discord session

Would you like to host a relaxation session, a group study moment, or perhaps an online chat where students can share their concerns?
As a Discord session facilitator, you can express your creativity and get involved easily.

You can plan and lead a Discord session on a topic of your choice that relates to student mental health and its promotion. The session can involve practical activities together or a discussion on a specific subject – you decide how you want to approach it!

You also get to determine the session’s length, timing, and format (text-based, or via voice or video). If you know other students who are enthusiastic about the topic, you can even run the session together as a group.

If you’re interested in leading sessions, contact Tommi from the volunteer program for more information and guidance:

Content creation with a student perspective

Do you have thoughts, opinions, or perspectives on student life that you’d like to share?
You can create content in your own style: write a blog post, make a social media post, or even produce a video on a topic related to student life.

In content creation tasks, you get to express your thoughts, experiences, and perspectives on student life in a way that suits you.

Maybe you express yourself best through writing and want to share your own story or insights in a blog? Or perhaps making videos is really your thing? Or maybe social media posts combining images and text are the best way for you to highlight your perspective?

Many types of content creation are possible! We can also brainstorm ideas together. You’ll also receive the support you need for the practical side of creating content.

Feel free to get in touch if you’re interested in creating content on topics related to student life:

Join Students’ Mental Health Week

During Students’ Mental Health Week, it is possible to independently organise activities that promote student mental health or raise awareness on the topic.
You can also have the opportunity to influence the planning and implementation of the campaign itself.

During Student Mental Health Week, the focus is on students’ right to mental health, current topics related to the theme, and encouraging everyone to take action to promote their own and others’ mental well-being.

You can organize various mental health–friendly activities as part of the nationwide Student Mental Health Week events. The events can take place online or in person, and can vary widely in format and content.

If you feel that you have ideas and perspectives for the planning, brainstorming, and implementation of the Student Mental Health Week campaign, we warmly welcome and value your input. Please get in touch if you’re interested in contributing to the campaign!

More information about the campaign can be found on the campaign page.

“A thoroughly great experience! I especially recommend it for students in the wellness fields, who will be working with people in the future. The professional staff trains you for the tasks and shares useful tips for effective and respectful interaction. Volunteering is also a great way to receive peer support from other students, so volunteer tasks are suitable for anyone interested!”
