About the theme

Social accessibility

The theme of the campaign week is equality, particularly focusing on social accessibility. Social accessibility refers to an accepting and appreciative attitude towards the diversity of people. Through social accessibility, equal opportunities for everyone to participate and engage, for example, in educational institutions and student communities, can be facilitated.

Currently, many students feel they lack support from their local community during their studies. According to research on the health and well-being of university students, about 24% of university students reported feeling lonely. Research also indicates that less than half of students feel they belong to the community of students in their field of study.

The goal of the campaign is to build a more communal and inclusive study culture, thereby enhancing students’ mental well-being. Through campaign events, the barrier to participation is lowered, and community spirit is fostered. The campaign also provides an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues in students’ everyday lives.
